New Proposals for Road Freight Operator Licensing in Northern Ireland

The Department of the Environment plans to make changes to the way road freight operators are licensed in Northern Ireland. The new arrangements will mean changes for all those who use goods vehicles over 3.5 tonnes in the course of their business. This will mean that both the hire and reward sector (who are currently licensed) and those who carry their own goods in the course of their business, will be licensed.
This paper seeks to answer many of the questions you may have about goods vehicle operator licensing.
