Subordinate LegislationThe Road Safety Subordinate Legislation programme is prioritised in accordance with
policy and Ministerial requirements. The legislation is drafted and made within the Road Safety Division,
assisted by the Departmental Solicitor’s Office. The links on these pages are
to the legislation pages of the Office of Public Sector Information (www.opsi.gov.uk
 ) (formerly known as Her Majesty’s Stationery Office). The Northern Ireland subordinate
legislation published on this website is published as enacted or made. Users should therefore verify
for themselves whether legislation is in force or whether it has been amended or repealed by subsequent
legislation.HMSO started to publish legislation on its website in 1996. Initially,
legislation was only available from that year. In 2000 HMSO took the decision to include older legislation
for which it had electronic files. These files dated back to 1991 for Northern Ireland legislation.
Prior to 1991, legislation is only available in its original print format. The
legislation listed represents some of the principal subordinate legislation governing road transport
in Northern Ireland.
