Consultations


A consultation document, and accompanying papers, has been issued in Great Britain by the Department for Transport (DfT), on proposals to reform the way people learn to drive, and the way they are tested.  It is believed that these reforms will contribute to a reduction in road deaths and injuries, particularly among newly-qualified drivers.
Driver training, testing and licensing is a devolved matter in Northern Ireland under the Northern Ireland Act 1998, although the process for learning to drive here is currently the same as in Great Britain. Your comments are sought, on the range of questions asked in the DfT consultation document, a copy of which can be found below.
